Dr. Schmolck’s fascination with science is what led him to pursue a career in Nephrology. He enjoys biking, tennis, skiing, and is a member of the Simpson College Orchestra. He is fluent in English and German. On his off time, you’ll find Dr. Schmolck traveling, gardening, attending to his hobby farm or spending time with his family.
Dr. Schmolck completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Bielefeld in Germany. He attended medical school in Freiburg while also studying Economics. Dr. Schmolck began his Residency at the University of Iowa in Internal Medicine and completed his final year of Residency and a Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Texas. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Schmolck has been practicing since 2005 and he will be seeing patients at both of our office locations.
